Vietnam Innovative Startup Accelerator (VIISA) to support digital startups

In Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, startups are spring up day by day. With an increasing number of talented technical staff in IT and digital services, Vietnamese startups are becoming attractive to investors. To support these startups and entrepreneurs, Vietnam Innovative Startups Accelerator, also know as VIISA ,has been created.

The Vietnamese accelerator provides an accelerator program and seed stage fund for startups.

Powered by FPT (Vietnam) Dragon Capital and Hanwha (South Korea), the 6-million-dollar fund aims to build a global-ready startups in Vietnam.

Vietnam Innovative Startups Accelerator offers an extensive range of supports to selected startups to its program:

  • Funds and resources:
    • In exchange of 10% of the startups shares, the team will receive $30,000 worth of investment but only $15,000 in cash
    • They will benefit from free spaces during the program
    • Access to $200,000 worth technical resources (IT, bank, consultancy, accounting services,…)
    • Promising graduates will be able to get follow-on funding of up to $200,000 coming from VIISA’s network of investors.
  • Mentors: for each session also called “Batch”, the candidates will be mentored by entrepreneurs, experts from industrial partners and investors
  • Network: thanks to an extensive network worldwide, VIISA has the capacity to export some of these startups over Vietnam’s borders, in priority to Singapore or South Korea.

 

VIISA Program

The VIISA program runs during 4 months. It ends-up with an Investment Day during which each startup will give a speech in front of investors.

During four months, entrepreneurs will build measure and grow their business before presenting their project or startup.

VIISA has already organized two batches composed of 18 startups in total. Coming from different countries in addition to Vietnam (South Korea, Ukraine, Indonesia, France, Colombia, and Japan…), the startups address various needs and industries (media, healthcare, artifial intelligence, edutech, sharing economy, fashion…)

Butterfly Salon: Transforming beauty through data science, computer vision and AI. Users find fashion and get the latest haircut for that best matches their looks.

Fastsell: A mobile app that allows you to list, discover and buy things from people around you quickly, reliably and securely.

UseData: SAAS that helps online sellers optimize visual merchandising through their product analysis platform

WeFit: A mobile app that provides you access to more than 100+gyms and fitness classes with their monthly subscription plan.

WisePass: A mobile app with a subscription plan. For 6 million VND per month, members get to enjoy a bottle of spirits or wine, every single night, at quality bars and restaurants.
